Community Guidelines
Marsoole exists to help Persian-speaking diaspora communities stay connected — sharing jobs, rooms, packages between cities, items, and conversation. These guidelines describe the kind of community we are building and the few things we do not allow. The full legal Terms are in a separate document; this page is a friendlier summary, but everything here is enforceable.
Short version: be kind, be honest, follow the law of every place your post or package touches, and don't send anything you'd be uncomfortable showing a customs officer.
What Marsoole is
A community classifieds and peer-to-peer service for the Persian-speaking diaspora: jobs (Hamkar), rooms and roommates (Hamkhooneh), peer-to-peer parcels through travelers (Marsoole / Hamsafar), buying and selling (Bazar), and community Q&A (Anjoman).
Marsoole is a platform. We do not employ anyone, broker any rental, carry any package, sell any item, or hold any money. Every transaction is between two users on their own terms.
Be kind, be honest
- Use your real name and a real photo. Don't impersonate anyone.
- Describe what you're offering accurately. Honest photos. Honest prices. Honest expectations.
- Treat other users with respect, even when there is a disagreement.
- No harassment, threats, hate speech, or discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other personal characteristic.
- No content that exploits, sexualizes, or endangers minors. Ever. We report this to authorities.
- No spam, no scams, no chain messages, no pyramid schemes, no "too good to be true" investment pitches.
Follow the law
- Anything illegal where you live, where the other person lives, or anywhere your package travels is also forbidden on Marsoole.
- Comply with sanctions and export-control laws. Marsoole is intended for users outside Iran; the platform is not for facilitating commerce with sanctioned countries or persons. We do not allow listings or messages that aid sanctions evasion.
- Comply with customs laws. Declare contents truthfully. Pay the duties you owe.
- If you are a U.S. person and want to send a personal gift to family in Iran through the Hamsafar feature, the OFAC personal-effects and general-license rules may permit modest noncommercial transfers — but it's your responsibility to confirm that what you're sending is allowed. When in doubt, don't send.
Never on Marsoole — items and content
These are absolute. Posting, sending, accepting, or carrying any of the following will get your account suspended and may be reported to authorities:
- Drugs, controlled substances, precursors, or paraphernalia.
- Weapons of any kind: firearms, ammunition, explosives, components, parts, replicas, or accessories.
- Items that need an export license you don't have — dual-use technology, surveillance gear, cryptographic items beyond mass-market consumer goods, drones where restricted.
- Counterfeits, knockoffs, pirated media, trademark infringement.
- Hazardous, flammable, corrosive, poisonous, radioactive, or biohazardous materials.
- Live animals, plants, seeds, perishables, raw food, alcohol or tobacco where restricted, e-cigarettes, vapes.
- Prescription or quantity-restricted medications, medical devices, supplements making medical claims.
- Human remains, body parts, fluids, or medical samples.
- Stolen goods, goods of questionable provenance, cultural property whose export is restricted.
- Large amounts of cash, monetary instruments, prepaid cards, or anything used to move money around sanctions or customs rules.
- Adult content, sexually explicit listings, escort services, sexual services.
- Listings or messages that defraud, deceive, or exploit other users.
- Content infringing someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights.
The parcel feature — extra care
Hamsafar lets travelers carry packages for senders. It's a powerful way to stay connected with family across borders, and it is also where things can go most wrong. A few rules:
- Senders: tell the truth about what's inside, in writing, before handoff. Photograph the contents. Don't ask a stranger to carry a sealed box.
- Travelers: inspect every package before you accept it. Refuse anything you can't verify. You are responsible for what you carry.
- Either side: meet in a safe public place. Bring a friend if you can. Don't accept third-party drop-offs.
- Marsoole is not the courier. We don't insure your package, hold escrow, refund payment, or step in if something goes wrong with customs. Use third-party insurance for items of value.
- If something feels off — story doesn't add up, contents are vague, urgency is high — say no. That instinct is right more often than not.
Reporting and blocking
We rely on the community to keep itself healthy.
- Report any listing, message, reply, or user from inside the app — tap the menu icon and choose Report.
- Block any user from inside the app — tap their name and choose Block. They will not be able to message you, see your new content, or interact with you in Anjoman.
- Email safety@marsoole.me for urgent safety issues. For sanctions or export-control concerns specifically, compliance@marsoole.me.
- We aim to review every report within 24 hours. We may remove content, warn users, suspend accounts, permanently ban repeat offenders, preserve records, and cooperate with law enforcement.
- Reporting is anonymous to the reported party. Abusive or false reporting is itself a violation.
If we take action against you
If we remove a listing or suspend your account and you think we got it wrong, email appeals@marsoole.me. Tell us the listing or user, what happened, and why you think the action was incorrect. We'll review and reply in a reasonable time.
Account deletion
You can delete your Marsoole account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion removes your profile, listings, push tokens, and saved items. Conversations you had with other users may persist on those users' devices and in our records as needed for safety and legal compliance.
